8 Ways to Drop Him a Hint

Let’s be honest – our men sometimes need a little push when it comes to buying a right jewellery for their ladies. So perhaps you need to drop a hint (or two!) to help him buy you a gift that you would really love.

Leave a tab open on his browser

Sometimes, the subtle approach is the best way. Just leave a webpage on his web browser displaying your desired jewellery. He’ll either get the picture or not get the hint at all.

Send him an email “by mistake”

OK, admit it, he’s not that type who would read between lines or easily pick up your hint dropping. No. Not at all. Sometimes a woman is forced to be devious and cunning. Send him some pictures with your favourite jewellery by email, shortly followed by “sorry wrong person”. Hopefully he will figure it out.

Tag him in the comments

Saw something really nice on Facebook? What a better way to show your desired gift than tag that special someone in the comments, adding “OMG it’s so cute! I REALLY want it!”. It should work its magic. Most of the time.

Bath or loo-reader?

OK, I know it sounds bonkers, but is he the one that spend many (happy) hours reading in the toilet or while taking a bath? If yes, it’s a wonderful opportunity to print out a webpage featuring the present you want and to leave it in the bathroom.

Show him what you like

If you’ve just spotted something you love while browsing on the website, just show it to him and let him know how much you love it. Hopefully, he’ll get the hint!

Share a link/Sent him a voucher

Sometimes oh-so-subtly hints needs to be more explicit. Click on the share button to send him a link to your desired ring. Did you receive a voucher code from the shop of your choice? Just email it to him, so he knows where you want him to purchase the perfect gift. Job done.

Tell him what you want (what you really really want!)

Instead of hoping he figures it out on his own, why don’t you try telling him? You can always ask him if there’s something he’d like you to buy him. Perfect happiness.

Buy it yourself

Needs must when needs must. When you really want something and you know he won’t get it, buy it yourself. Because you’re worth it!

true love

All You Need Is Love

Being in love… It’s such a wonderful feeling to know that your girlfriend is your true soulmate and that is always right there by your side. To want to share everything with her, to be with her, to love her. To be the happiest ever. And one day to realise that your other half is the most important person and nothing else matters more than to be with her to the rest of your life.

It’s time to ask that important question

But first, you have to pop the big question. You start to wonder how to propose to your girlfriend. Timing is everything and the place you want to propose to her is important. Maybe you are thinking of booking a table in your favourite restaurant or taking her for a holiday. You may even consider asking her parents permission. But you definitely want it to be the unforgettable and special day. And when you eventually ask her “Will you marry me?” you want to hear ‘yes’.

You start to think what kind of engagement ring you want to buy, knowing that you don’t want to spend too much on it. Maybe you want to save money to buy a new house, and then there are always the wedding expenses. Every penny counts. She loves you deeply and you are aware that it doesn’t matter for her how much you spend on a ring it’s a symbol of your true commitment to her.

Here are some ideas to help you find an alternative engagement ring.

You can find a beautiful substitute proposal ring and very elegant indeed without a price tag, something nice and not gaudy at all. We know that silver rings with a diamond cut and a diamond-like shine and shimmer cubic zirconia are absolutely gorgeous and seem to be a good alternative to very expensive engagement rings. Honestly, no one will ever notice the difference.

This one for example looks elegant and traditional and it is our best-seller engagement ring with diamond cut cubic zirconia:

Why Silver Rings?

I’ve been asked many times why do we choose to work mostly with sterling silver and why we decided to maintain classical style of our rings. Here is my answer.

Classically designed sterling silver rings and necklaces represent endless styles that are always in high demand. No matter what the fashion statement; classic cuts and designs always enhance and command attention.

The rings and necklaces can house some of the most beautiful and precious stones such as sapphire with its deep royal blue and cubic zirconia that is available in a variety of colors. Sterling silver jewellery is not only a representation of fine craftsmanship, beauty, and high-fashion; but the metal is highly regarded for its health benefits and its hypoallergenic characteristics.

Aside from its beauty and health benefits; silver rings and necklaces are very affordable in comparison to gold and other metals. Additionally, the silver content is high in these pieces of jewellery which means they contain a greater degree of purity than equivalent gold pieces in the same price range.

Also, a silver ring or a silver necklace is so neutral in tone that they can be worn with just about anything and for any occasion. It would be a near impossible feat to find an outfit that silver does not complement. Interestingly, the neutrality of silver also means that it complements any skin tone.

Without question, a silver ring or necklace can be dressed up or down effortlessly. Both men and women are able to find a wide range of styles to suit their tastes. As an added bonus, silver is very easy to maintain. Also, color restoration of a silver ring or necklace can even be done at home.

What to do when a ring is stuck on a swollen finger?

My fingers swell during a really hot weather or during extensive exercising, so sometimes I have a problem with taking off my wedding ring. If  this just happened to you and you need help, please read our tips on how to remove a ring from a swollen finger.

First rule is, don’t panic. From my experience, it’s better not try to tug and pull a ring too much, because it can cause additional swelling to your finger and can be really painful. You can try to twist (not pull!) a ring a little from side to side, but if it stuck really hard, try to use cold water and soap or any concentrated dishwasher liquid using the same method of twisting it around your finger. A water and soap usually works perfectly for me.

Other method of taking a stuck ring off, is to lubricate your finger using a hand lotion, Vaseline, butter, oil or anything else which is just slippery. A great product to use is… Windex. Yes, I really mean a glass cleaner, but if you suspect that you can have an allergy reaction, don’t use it. Spray Windex or put any other slippery product on your finger and once again, don’t try to pull your ring off, just twist it around a finger very gently.

One of techniques I’ve read about (never tried by myself, but people swear this works perfectly) is to stick a dental floss (or just a very thin string) under your ring, leaving a small tail to use later on and wrap it around your finger. Each wrap should be close to the one before, but it shouldn’t be wrap too tightly. Now grab the small tail you left and start to unwinding a dental floss and a ring should slip off by itself.

If this don’t help, and your ring is badly stuck, try to just hydrate yourself. Try to limit the amount of salt in your food and drink a lot of water. Elevate your hand above your heart for a few minutes, to bring swelling effect down. After some time you can try to repeat one of methods of removing ring I described above and I really hope this time you are more lucky!

But most importantly – be always safe. If at any point you feel that it’s impossible to do it by yourself, or this is giving you too much pain, and your finger (and sometimes even whole hand) is swollen so much that you are loosing blood circulation or you feel that your finger is broken, you have to seek a medical help immediately. They will probably cut your ring off, which can be really sad for you, especially if this is your precious wedding ring, but don’t worry. Any local jeweller can repair and also re-size this for you.

But remember, if your finger was really damaged, it needs some time to be fully cured, so try not to wear a ring on it for some time. Usually your finger needs about a couple of weeks to fully recover.
